Rethinking tremolite stability: a re-examination of the 450–700 °C corridor in metadolostones
New microprobe data from 41 metadolostone localities across the Caledonian and Alpine belts suggest tremolite's stability field is broader — and its compositional zoning more diagnostic — than the classic 1966 experimental work implied. We propose a revised petrogenetic grid and discuss the implications for distinguishing regional from contact metamorphism in mixed carbonate terrains.
